The mad scientists at WhistlePig excite our palates with each new exploration of barrel-aging. With The Boss Hog #8, they're taking us to the Philippines, celebrating their hero Lapu-Lapu who drove the Spaniards out, back in 1521.

The Boss Hog VIII features an 18-year-old Straight Rye Whiskey that got a unique double finish in Rum barrels (8 and 10YO) from the island of Cebu, where the battle took place. Fun fact: those barrels used to hold Bourbon, which makes this one helluva journey. The Whiskey is rich and tropical with layers of lush notes: vanilla, bananas, molasses, cinnamon, citrus, butterscotch, toffee, leather, nutmeg, black pepper... WhistlePig did it again!
