The late George G. Moore came to the U.S. in the 1970’s. A successful businessman, he put his passion into business in 2011. Today, it’s wife together with their son and his wife continue his legacy at Virginia Distillery Company in the heart of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. They’re all about making American Single Malt Whisky that would make George proud.
Their VHW series is made from 100% malted barley. It marries their American Single Malt Whisky with aged Scotch malt Whisky. The VHW collection includes Port Cask Finished Whisky, Cider Cask Finished Whisky, Brewers Batch and Chardonnay Cask Finished Whisky.
VHW Brewers Batch Whisky is crafted from 100% malted barley. American Single Malt is made on-site in Virginia and then married with aged Scotch Malt Whisky. This intriguing bottling is finished in casks that are sourced from local breweries, such as Three Notch’d Brewing, which is a long-time central Virginia favorite. They created a Wee Heavy style Beer especially for this tasty collab. After the Moore family lends their casks to the breweries to age their Beer in, the casks are returned back home to finish off the Whisky blend for an extra 8-16 months.
