The Spirit of the Cenote

Cenote Tequila draws inspiration from the sacred cenotes of Mexico, natural limestone pools fed by underground rivers. Produced using 100% blue Weber agave, volcanic spring water, and slow-roasting techniques, Cenote combines tradition with bold character and terroir.

Cenote Blanco is bright and pure, distilled from estate-grown agave and uniquely rested for 3 weeks in American oak for incredible smoothness and depth of flavor. With aromas of cooked agave, green pepper, and citrus zest, it’s a clean, complex tequila that’s perfect neat or in a classic Margarita.

Cenote Green Orange is a citrus-forward tequila liqueur made by infusing Cenote Blanco with macerated green orange peels. At 40% ABV, it delivers a lightly sweet, tangy profile with juicy orange, lime peel, and herbal agave notes, ideal for a sunny twist on your favorite cocktail.

Cenote Ahumado is a smoked Reposado, matured in American oak barrels and made with agave cooked in underground stone ovens using mezcal-like techniques. The result is a smoky, savory tequila with charred fruit, baking spice, and a subtle campfire finish that still retains the smoothness of traditional Reposado.

SMARTASS CORNER

  1. Cenotes are natural sinkholes filled with fresh water and were considered sacred gateways to the underworld by the ancient Maya.

  2. Cenote draws its volcanic spring water from an artesian well located within the distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco—part of the Lowlands.

  3. The Blanco is oxygenated before bottling. This technique is said to soften texture and enhance aroma.

  4. Green orange (naranja verde) is a less common citrus used in Mexican liqueurs and culinary infusions.

  5. Cenote Green Orange stands out by using real macerated peels, offering natural citrus flavor without added extracts.

  6. Inspired by mezcal, Cenote Ahumado is cooked in wood-fired stone ovens, adding savory depth uncommon in most tequilas.

  7. While Reposado is typically known for its smoothness, the smoked twist on Cenote Ahumado adds savory depth without overwhelming the oak.

  8. Cenote is produced by Master Distiller Arturo Fuentes, who is known for blending traditional Mexican methods with French Cognac influences.
