A smart, crafty, and environmentally friendly guy walks into a bar and asks for a non-alc Gin Tonic. “Sorry Bud, the best I can do is this hangover-included version,” answers yet another bartender. So the impossibly smart, crafty, and environmentally friendly guy, also known as Bob Huitema, decides to take matters into his own hands. For all the sober, sober curious, and basically everybody who enjoys a great-tasting drink, he will create a line of non-alcoholic Spirits that will taste great, feel great, and have no detrimental effects on health. And so, in 2017, Sobrii was born. Distilled in Stratford, Ontario, it is Canada’s first distilled non-alcoholic Spirit.

The making of a Sobrii non-alcoholic Gin is pretty similar to making any Gin: the botanicals, among them juniper, star anise, coriander, spice, and - a Canadian specialty - Canadian ginseng are macerating in alcohol before being distilled several times. After that, the pure Canadian water is added, and finally, a crucial step for a non-alc version!, alcohol is removed. The alcohol content in the final product is less than 0.5%, which makes Sobrii Gin a completely healthy version of this amazing Spirit. Besides being alcohol-free (and hangover free), this non-alc Gin is also calorie-free and sugar-free.
