Meet Singani 63 — a unique and fresh Eau d’Vie and the national drink of Bolivia.

Steven Soderbergh is a super-famous movie director. His films have grossed more than $2.2 billion dollars and won numerous awards, including Golden Globes, Academy Awards, and Palm ‘dOr at the Cannes File Festival. Well, he has started a side business — Steven Soderbergh Adventures — whose purpose is “to identify the exceptional in all areas of human endeavor.” Well, during a production party in Spain for one of his films, their Bolivian casting director brought a bottle of something special to the party and ignited a new passion.

Have you ever heard of Singani? We’re guessing you haven’t. But Singani is the national beverage of Bolivia and it’s been made exclusively from the distilled juice of Muscat d’Alexandria grapes grown at al altitude of over a mile since approximately 1530 — nearly 500 years. It’s fermented using natural yeasts and distilled by a local farm to bottle producer of Singani in Bolivia called Casa Real. And although Soderbergh resists the classification, Singani 63 is officially an un-aged Brandy or Eau d’Vie with a very distinctive flavor profile.
