Depending on the specific actual plantation and the country of origin, the Rums can vary between soft and aromatic to light and elegant — each one showing the experienced influence of Maison Ferrand.

So, you may be asking yourself, "What the heck is O.F.T.D?" Well, there is the official meaning and then there is the story.

Alexandre Gabriel is the entrepreneur who transformed Maison Ferrand and Plantation Rum into the global quality powerhouses they are today. He gathered six friendly fellow Rum-lovers at his chateau in Cognac, France, to recreate a classic from the past — Old Fashioned Traditional Dark (OFTD) Rum. It is a blend of three molasses based Caribbean Rums from Barbados, Guyana, and Jamaica using three different still types and fermentation processes. And bottled at 69% ABV, Plantation O.F.T.D. Overproof Artisanal Rum is a BFD.
