Paquera is an award-winning brand of authentic Mezcal that donates to the Union de Productores Agropecuarios del Distrito de Ejutla de Crespo (UPADEC), a union of palenques. They create artisanal Spirits that are meant to be savored and appreciated slowly and savored. Created with family methods that have been perfected over generations, Paquera showcases the unique production process of Mezcal and its rich culture.

Paquera Barril Mezcal Artesanal is a small-batch artisanal Mezcal from San Miguel Ejutla. Barril agave is fermented in locally-made Awewete wood barrels before it’s double-distilled in copper pot stills. This approachable and elegant Mezcal greets with a floral nose and delights you with its silky and lush palate, bursting with earthy, spicy, and bright flavors. Enjoy this one neat, on the rocks, or in a delicious cocktail.

Their purpose is to support the mezcal-producing families and communities in Oaxaca. They achieve this by working within the Cooperativa Oaxaqueña Productora de Mezcal co-op, in which multiple families can thrive. Paquera supports the community by helping each producer address unique challenges and by implementing sustainable processes. There are currently five families apart of COOPDEM.
