Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Voyage 24 Bourbon Whiskey
Jeffersonâs Bourbon aged Caribbean style.
Jeffersonâs was founded in 1997 by Trey Zoeller and his father Chet â a famed Bourbon historian who wrote the book on Kentucky distilleries. Yes, an actual book called âBourbon in Kentucky: A History of Distilleries in Kentucky.â And eight generations ago, their great-great-grandmother was arrested for the âproduction and sales of spiritous liquorsâ in 1799. Which makes her the coolest ancestor ever! They acquire and produce a range of specialty Bourbons and Rye Whiskies. In 2007 Jeffersonâs was sold to Castle Brands to build a portfolio of premium spirits.
Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Voyage 24 Bourbon Whiskey is part of the range of their Whiskeys that traveled the world by sea. Only this oneâs different. Instead of crossing the equator multiple times like its counterparts, Number 24 spent all of its time in the Caribbean. This meant a lot of heat, all of the time. Visiting the ports of the Caribbean and Central America and weathering a tropical storm or two, the Bourbon rested in containers dubbed âheat ovensâ on board the ship. Unique and exotic, this is a sweet and mellow Bourbon with a laid-back finish, packed with caramel and vanilla flavors.
