A crisp and lightly sweet Vodka from Minnesota double-distilled to allow the character to shine through.

Just off Route 55 on the south side of Minneapolis, east of the Mississippi River site Du Nord Craft Spirits. Chris Montana and his wife Shanelle had careers in law and politics when they wisely decided to put all that behind them and distill Spirits. This epiphany took root in 2013 and since then this happy family has grown their local business into a thriving micro-enterprise with deep community roots and charitable leanings. They have a tidy range of five Whiskeys and Liqueurs steeped in local flare.

L’Etoile means "the star" in French. As with many small distilleries, Vodka was the first Spirit to come off the stills at Du Nord. So it makes a lot of sense that they named it in a way filled with meaning — completing not only the state motto, but providing a sense of purposeful direction in the pursuit of their goals… their own personal North Star. Du Nord L'Etoile Vodka is a multi-award-winner made from a double bass of corn and sugar beets. The Spirit is double-distilled and charcoal filtered, allowing the subtle characteristics of the base to influence the aromatics and textures.

Smartass Corner:
The name "Du Norde" is a reference to the state motto of Minnesota — L'étoile du Nord, which translates from French as "The North Star." The land where Minneapolis is today was a part of the Louisiana Purchase from France in 1803.
