Boston Harbor Distillery Merry Maker Gingerbread Stout (375mL)
In Boston, it's always Christmas with this bottle.
Boston Harbor Distillery is a waterfront warehouse by the Neponset River, where Rhonda Kallman decided to use her 25 years of experience in making craft beer to create something new. She hired Dr. James Swan, the world-famous Whiskey expert, and John Couchot, an award-winning distiller. The magic trio came up with hundreds of barrels of various Whiskeys, a small batch rum, and even distilled beer (to remind Rhonda of the craft beer movement).
One of the most wonderful results is a series of three Whiskeys based on Samuel Adams beer, called Spirit of Boston. The distillation amplifies flavors of each hop, spice, and grain used to make the beer. It's twice distilled and matured in used barrels.
Merry Maker Gingerbread says it all with its name. It's a Spirit of good tidings and warm fireplaces while it's snowy and cold outside. There's no Christmas without ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and this bottle knows it. It has been nor confirmed nor denied that Santa Claus drinks this while delivering gifts (it's okay, it's the reindeer that actually drive) and maybe this is the best Whiskey to drink while your favorite people open presents. Just promise you won't be giving any sweaters?
